Live Presenter: Alexander Prowse

This video includes footage taken from ‘YSTV’s Children in Need 2009’ and ‘York University Student Union (YUSU) Election Night 2010’. These are two contrasting live productions which I presented on; Children in Need being more relaxed than the formality of Election Night. Presenting on ‘Children in Need’ required me to introducing videos, links and perform an unseen presenter task, making for an enjoyable production. ‘Elections Night 2010’ required me to communicate the live election information accurately to the viewers. I had to introduce videos, conduct interviews in the studio and inform the viewers of the positions being contested with previous knowledge compiled. This knowledge was invaluable in making sure the show went smoothly and all possible queries could be answered and relative questions asked. As a first year undergraduate, I had not had any previous experience of presenting, live or pre-recorded, before joining YSTV this year.
