Entertainment: Have I Got News For York, Episode 2

The first episode is from Spring Term 2010 week 9 and features Rosie Fletcher as host, regular team captains Max Tyler and Tom Flynn plus guests Will Booth and Oli Lester. The second episode is from Summer Term 2010 week 5, again with Rosie Fletcher as host, captains Max Tyler and Tom Flynn but this episode’s guests are Lewis Bretts and Dave Hanson. Based on the BBC1 regular comedy show, Have I Got News For You, HIGNFYork happens twice a term and is produced and written by YUSU Comedy Soc. Always good for a laugh, the first episode was broadcast in the midst of election fever and so had a slight election theme. The aim of HIGNFYork is to look mainly at news/events that have happened on York University campus in a satirical fashion and is diverse in its format using pictures, music, blanked out words from various newspapers and magazines and even sometimes (as demonstrated in the first episode) a special catwalk style walk. Most of the show is improvised which makes it more entertaining because both the audience and the teams cannot predict what is going to happen next. YSTV films the shows with 3 cameras, edits the camera shots, puts the slides over the top that are sent to us from Comedy Soc and aims to have it up online in under a week.
